An exemplar of late-twentieth-century British contract furniture manufacturing, this task chair illustrates the convergence of ergonomic utility and corporate modernism. Produced by Gordon Russell Ltd., the design marks the historical transition from traditional Cotswold cabinet-making toward specialized industrial workspace solutions.
The molded seat shell is clad in its original vibrant red textile upholstery, bounded by a continuous, high-impact black thermoplastic protective bumper. The superstructure is integrated with a precision-engineered, heavy-duty swivel and pneumatic tilt mechanism manufactured in Norway by Ring Mekanikk. An adjustable pneumatic gas cylinder anchors the composition, terminating in a polished five-star cast aluminum base rolling on twin-wheel hooded casters.
Great condition throughout with signs of age and use.
