An iconic G Plan 6250 Wing Chair, affectionately known as the ‘Blofeld’ chair, dating from the 1960s.
One of G Plan’s most recognisable lounge-chair designs, the 6250 is defined by its dramatically flared wing back, deeply buttoned and pleated upholstery, sweeping sculpted arms and distinctive exposed timber underframe.
This example is upholstered in a wonderfully rich mustard-gold fabric, emphasising the chair’s extraordinary architectural form and generous proportions. The tall enveloping back and broad wings give it tremendous presence from every angle.
Presented in very good vintage condition, with age-related wear and marks consistent with use. The upholstery shows some expected variation and wear, while the timber frame retains an attractive aged finish.
A wonderfully theatrical piece of 1960s British furniture design - and deservedly one of G Plan’s cult classics.
