Three metres thirty of pale ivory leather, sitting almost impossibly low on polished metal frames.

Sacha Lakic’s Scénario for Roche Bobois was conceived as a modular seating system rather than a fixed sofa. Individual elements can be rearranged to change the composition, while double-depth adjustable backrests and laterally opening armrests alter the seating position itself.

This example is upholstered throughout in pale ivory pigmented leather, with the characteristic geometric panelled stitching across the seats. Separate lumbar cushions sit beneath the adjustable backs, while the broad arm cushions can be repositioned as the configuration changes.

The polished rectangular metal frames are particularly good: visually light beneath the considerable scale of the upholstery, they make the whole composition appear to float just above the floor.

Included is the matching 110 × 110 cm module/ottoman, allowing the seating to be arranged as an L-shaped composition, a long linear sofa, chaise-style seating or as separate elements.
