A wonderfully engineered mid-century architect’s drafting table, combining a large timber drawing board with a lightweight metal trestle frame.
The board tilts through substantial semicircular geared/locking mechanisms, while the unusually elegant base is strengthened by slender rod bracing converging through a distinctive central circular junction. Wide disc feet, riveted frame construction and the timber equipment shelf complete its purposeful industrial character.
The table survives with considerable original patina and wear from professional use. The original counterweight/pulley, parallel ruler and associated drawing equipment are no longer present, and it is offered as photographed.
A superb sculptural piece of vintage technical furniture, equally effective as a working drawing table, artist’s easel or display piece.
